Simha Biotech Pvt Ltd is a spin-off company from Asthagiri Herbal Research Foundation, to harness inventions made for commercialisation in the areas of crop production, protection and utilization. The company has access to 21 acres of farm land with organic certificate. The strategy is to produce products organically and test their safety levels and efficacy. The company is registered under MSME, and has obtained GMP for manufacturing herbal products. Additionally, it also has acquired Ayush and FSSAI licenses for about a dozen of products. The company has filed 3 patents.

Our founder, Dr. Latha Narasimhan holds Ph.D. in Commerce, thesis entitled “ECONOMICS OF HERBAL TRADE IN INDIA”. She has more than 25 years of experience in managing the research foundation.

The company is guided by Dr. S. Narasimhan, a recipient of the “Tamil Nadu Scientist award”. He holds Ph.D. in Chemistry, from the University of Madras. He got associated with Prof. Herbert C. Brown, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry (1979) in Purdue University, Indiana U.S.A. He is the Founder, Director of Asthagiri Herbal Research Foundation. He has worked in interdisciplinary areas involving chemistry, natural products, biotechnology, entomology, microbiology and analytical. He has guided 40 ph.Ds, has published more than 135 research articles, and has filed 3 patents.

Dr. S. Narasimhan’s current focus is on ayurvedic and Siddha concepts, to develop food products for general up keep of health. He has developed number of eco-friendly products for crop protection, healthcare including common metabolic ailments, diabetes, cancer and inflammation. He has developed natural products-based drug discovery resulting in designing 300 molecules, synthesized 100 molecules, of which 8 has shown drug leads for diabetes, cancer and inflammation.
